Wedding dinner and Lost City, Tambun
Just got back from Ipoh. Thought of blogging a little before I hit the sack.
Rushed to Ipoh on Saturday evening around 5 plus for a 7 o’clock wedding. Needless to say, we were late. When the four of us marched in, they were already serving dish number 3. Just in time for some chicken. The place was packed and there were 3 events on the same floor. Two weddings and one birthday celebration. The granny’s celebration was sandwiched between yum seng cheers both left and right. The youngsters, presumably her grandchildren tried to bring the house down too with their own cheers.
Overall the food there was great and I never expected that from a local restaurant. It’s better than the dishes I had from my previous wedding dinners I attended. We cleared most of the dishes, from the prawns to the mushrooms. The rice… cannot finish on the spot but the guys “kasi bungkus” for tomorrow’s breakfast. Dessert also left a bit. Nope, they threw my idea of having to pack it and put in a straw so that they can hang it in the car and drink.
Adjourned to a cafe at Green Town and ordered some diluted hot chocolate and mushroom soup with a nice garlic toast. Hung around till it was 1 plus. Washed up and slept.
Woke up at 11 when my friend’s parents were pacing up and down the living room. Oops… I was the last one lying around their common room, so got up quickly and brushed up and bathed. Went and had breakfast and it’s the umpteenth time I missed the egg custard. All sold out. Had a plate of chee cheong fun and few pieces of popiah and some beef balls. Headed home and rest. Went out again to meet 2 Ipoh (chicks of course…) and had lunch together with them. It was already 2.30pm. Had a quick one then headed home and on the way back they decided to go over to The Lost City of Tambun. A water theme park. Changed quickly and off we went. Hesitated at the counter but finally paid RM23.90 for 2 and half hours of expected fun. Did a couple of water slides and spun on rides (dry park). Gave the Pirate ship a miss because the two of us was on the verge of vomiting. Another friend of mine surrendered at the first ride. I forgot the rides name. To be honest, as I am typing this, 8 hours after leaving the park, my stomach is still feeling queasy. Damn.
Anyway, guess whom I met there? Walked over to the tiger’s den and met my fellow climbers from KL. What a coincidence! Greeted them and stayed for a while. They were already packing for they were there since 10 in the morning. Showed me some routes that they did and damn it’s so cool. Wished I could spare some time for it. Well there is always next time. Xes was there a month plus ago.
Overall the whole trip had been fun but I missed having my gf along. She too had 2 wedding dinners to attend to on Sunday and also have to play “ji mui” too for a colleagues wedding. Can’t help it because these few months a lot of friends are holding their wedding ceremonies. I have another one coming in 2 weeks. Get bombed until scared I tell ya.
I am beat… Nite…
