You may have heard it on the radio or on other media. It’s boasting to be one of the prime location for shopping and leisure. Niu Ze Xui (NZX) was launched on the New Year’s day and the crowd has been flocking to the new commercial center like ducks to a pond. Within one week, I have been there twice. Quite a number of shops are opened but they still lack products to sell. Most of them just put their stuff up for the sake of the opening. Can’t blame them for NZX is a brand new commercial center. Brought Food4Thot there last Friday and both of us agreed that it’s somewhat resembles Suan Lum Bazaar, Bangkok with a modern Malaysian twist. There are certain angles when it does reminds us of that place.

The last time I was there, Big Apple has opened it’s doors for business but the outlet is relatively new for the dough nuts I tasted are not on par with the ones in The Curve. StarBucks is on it’s way. Loads of bubble tea shops. There is one interesting “island” selling alcohol. Only beers though. No liquor license I figure. Loads of fashion choices for the ladies from cute accessories to dresses. Gf got me a nice graphic T from a shop there too. Thank you ya! Forgot their name but they are having a 30% promotion on the 2nd item purchased.
Oh and huge selection of DVDs too. Haha…
And since Chinese New Year is coming, one will be welcomed by stuff for CNY when you enter. It’s really a sight to behold but strangely enough, there is only sight minus the sound. Don’t really gives you a “dong dong chiang” mood although the place is fully packed with fortune plants, cookies, ornaments and barbecued meat. I did not hear any music blasting out loud at all. No “Chopstick Sisters” or “Boys from the Hill” or “7 Little Fairy” bla bla bla.

that i somewhat agree, i also felt that it was a bit like sg. wang. maybe they are following berjaya times squares style… and slowly phase them out. anyway it’s still new. let the place develop a bit. it might be different given another 6 months or so. who knows.

yeah it is. anyway the place is still new. they are adding things every now and then. it’s a developing area. if you want to, you could check it out in 6 months time. but definitely not worth it if you go now and join the mad rush with others.

I pass by them everyday but did not went and see them. But last week they took down the poster walls and everyone could go and see for free.
I think it only generated a little buzz for NZX. It has been a very quiet year considering there was not much massive jam compared to last year.
