Get away
So much that I want to write now.
Will put it on hold for I shall be heading a little down south for the weekend.
Would love to submerge my head in the pool tomorrow morning… in search for some peace and quiet. Doubt it though for the place has quite a lot of bookings.

Yes, I am a little hippie at heart
John Lennon reached out to me this morning after bath.
When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,
there will be an answer. let it be.Let it be, let it be, …..
And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me,
shine until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.Let it be, let it be, …..
and no, don’t worry, I won’t be joining Lennon anytime soon.

Floating is great
Yes that’s how I am feeling now. Empty and light.
Nothing seems to hold me down. Legs feels like jelly.
SlowCatchUpKuan seems like I am a little wee ahead of you in regards of my post. Can you guess where I am heading with this post?
I just want to thank for all the support my friends have been giving me. I have not spoken to my brothers about this. Hope they will understand my delay.
Even the words I type are coming off wrong. Have to keep deleting and pausing.
Incidentally the post I was about to make today is the rebirth of Matchbox 20 and their new single, These Hard Times from the album Exile on Mainstream. Enjoy.
Wish I was one of the balloon right now.
With due respect to all my friends, sorry if I was blunt or rude or uncooperative during this period. I leave you now with These Hard Times lyrics.
Morning falls like rain into the city life
There goes another night
Losing my breath in waves
Knowing that ever crash is bleading the hourglass
And taking the strife from all our lives
Everyone keeps talking
They promise you everything
But they don’t mean anything
We may loose our focus
There’s just too many words
We’re never meant to learn
And we don’t feel so alive
So goodbye, these days are gone
And we can’t keep holding on
When all we need is some relief
Through these hard times
Through these hard times
Move your hands in circles
Keeping me hypnotized
The power behind your eyes
Move around your bedroom cursing the naked sky
You should be here tonight
But you stay alone and cry
Say goodbye, these days are gone
And we can’t keep holding on
When all we need is some relief
Through these hard times
(whoa) There’s something missing
(Oh whoa) You’ll never feel it but you
(Oh whoa) You’re gonna feel it when it’s gone
When it’s gone
Say goodbye, these days are gone
And we can’t keep holding on
When all we need is some relief
Through these hard times
(hey) these Hard times
(oh no now) Hard times
Hard times
Say goodbye, these days are gone
Say goodbye, these days are gone
These days are gone

Off to Gunung Kutu and …
Tomorrow is a holiday so am planning to tag along for some hiking near Fraser’s Hill. Not much details has been acquired from my friend but saw some pictures when I googled for it. Kutu literally means “ticks”. Let’s hope the place itself is not infested with them. Planning to sleep early tonight as I have to gather at my friend’s place at 6am in the morning. A climbing buddy told me there is a large boulder in Gunung Kutu so I will be checking it out, in case they wanted to go over for some climbing project. Yeah…
Here is some ranting. You can choose to stop reading.
Oh and the list of cabinet ministers has been announced and it seems a long serving minister was left out of it. It’s time really.
And the market, especially those luxury stuffs are having some setbacks over the week it seems, right after the shocking election results. People in the custom made jewelery said that they have practically been swapping at flies ever since the election when a few days before the polling, a Datin actually came in making some RM160k purchase in cash. Normally one would swipe it with cards, but this particular Datin (her Datuk, suspected to be a candidate judging by her phone calls) chose to pay in huge amount of cash. The staffs hand stunk with the smell of Ringgit after counting and recounting the amount. Who would withdraw or stash such a huge amount of cash and go shopping with it? Fishy stuff. Maybe trying to get rid of some evidence? Who knows. Time to look for job guys.
It seems that people in the automotive industry are getting hit badly too, namely Mercedes, BMW… bla bla bla people. Ask any of them and the answer would be baddddddddddddd… Most of the shitheads might be hiding under their blankets too scared to go shopping for new wheels. There was one who came out and went home and died of heart attack, just three days after the election results. What a great escape for the pond scum. No respect even though he is six feet under now. Would love to see his ass hauled to prison or to be involved in court dramas. Damn.
Somehow I find it a little hard to believe and even funny to hear a statement stating that being a backbencher is what was desired all along and no intention in being included in the cabinet all along. It’s like force feeding the public dried cow dung. Sometimes they think that we really have shit for brains. Not this time.

Me? Award? Again?
![]() |
Haha… I don’t really qualify for these awards so I am having a little hard time here. First off is the award from SlowCatchUpKuan. She gave me the E award. That’s too long a word with a too good to be true meaning. But there was a time when I wished the word appear more and it was during my school days. My report cards are ugly. PS. I did something to the award. Had some free time so… |
Second one… Rizal my man has put me in a way tighter spot. He had kindly bestowed on my the “You Inspire Me” award. I wonder when did that happen. Hehe… but it’s all good. Bet he enjoyed drawing the award as much as he enjoyed giving it away. Thanks man.

The Missing Me
Hehe… did anyone realized that I was absent from my blog lately…
In case none of you did, here are my excuses anyway.
- Still in holiday mood.
- Shifted to a new place.
- Office work to clear.
- Election 2008… I decide.
Yeah yeah… I know, Chinese New Year ended long time ago… but hey… talks of having trips so very often among your friends just keep the flame going. In fact, I have a weekend trip coming up end of this month.
Ho Silver!
Yup I shifted to a new place. Previous tenancy contract ended… sigh… it’s like an annual thing, this shifting. Very tiring and troublesome. Previous landlord had intention to sell the house but never mentioned it to us. But it’s settled now. I have moved from the master bedroom to a medium sized room. A small cut on rental a bit cut on floorspace. Am not complaining though, don’t get me wrong. It just means I have less place to clean up. Haha…
New place is quite windy so far and we are facing a huge park. No obstructing adjacent building. When evening comes, the wind just wraps you around. Aaa… Alas, my computer monitor have decided to go kaput. It had been with me since 2000 till now. Am gonna miss it. My housemate advised me to go get a second hand monitor for like RM100 with a 3 month warranty. Think will do just that, though I have my doubts.
Yup. Work is piling up and needs clearing so I don’t really have time to click around and poke my nose. Short and simple. Do not want to elaborate on it.
Moving on to the hottest topic today. I never used to like to expose myself to politics as I perceive it in a … you know, way. For this particular election though, I was turned around, by cyberspace. Spent a considerable amount of time going through political blogs and independent news source, finally some non-government controlled media. Yes, the opposition gained a lot of new grounds this time through internet and hope that they will continue doing so in years to come so that we can be updated ever so often.
To those BN ignorants, hope that this be a tight slap or several slaps that wake you up from your slumber. Eat your words. When the leader sleeps and goes honeymoon so does the whole cabinet. Hopefully this will get them to sit straight and do what they are suppose to do. Back out and let the one who can work come in.
Any of you watched NTV7 for the election results? I did. With my parents. I particularly enjoyed the conversation between the host (forgot her name) and Honey Tan (All Women’s Action Society (Awam) representative). Yeah, pay no attention to the so called professor from UKM who mumbled and stumbled with his answers every time. That freak eyebrowed fellow irked me so much that I decided to shower when he spoke. The heat was getting turned on by Honey Tan and the host during the later part of the show. More sensitive issues were being discussed and Honey just spoke out with insinuating remarks. Never thought that I would enjoy shows like these and for once the debate was not one sided… apple polishing the Government. The “professor” had his tail in between his legs all the time trying to sweeten up his answers and beat around the bush. At the end of every answer, it seemed that it was even more confusing. Both the host and Honey proved to be more captivating and outspoken with the latter touching a lot on women rights issues and current society subjects. Wonder if the Opposition party will try and rope her in. Alas, both of them were taken off the show later and replaced because the topics were getting a bit out of hand for the people-who-controls-the-media. Sucks… I really wanted to hear what Honey has to say about the outcome in Rembau.
Am so glad I made my choice this year. This proves to the other skeptics that together we do make a difference. Every vote counts. Although it was not enough to garner much for the Opposition in Johore but hey it made a difference compared to the years before. Muar was the one and only area that went to the Opposition party which was quite shocking to many, and it proved that BN is losing their footing there and I honestly and truly believed Muar’s homeboy called Namewee did a huge part with all his songs and music videos. And now that the DAP has won it for Muar I am wishing that this will give Namewee some inspiration to come up with a new song that could be a sub theme song to be played along DAP’s Just Change.
I heard those who goes back to Kelantan to vote for BN gets RM200. They really do. Thats money politics for you. But let us see what changes can the Opposition bring to the 5 states that they have in their hands and let us cross our fingers for the better. Something inside me tells me that it will be hard too as others will definitely provide loads of barricades and obstacles for them.
Oh and have you heard? The tyrant who used to be Port Klang’s assemblyman is now a past tense forever. Yeah Zakaria… no I will not refer him as Datuk… suffered a heart attack and gone straight to, definitely not heaven if you ask me. Lucky him, if not he will have a lot to deal with especially with all his obvious evil doings.
I think I will have extra helping at lunch today. My appetite seemed to be good.
Actually am sorry for those who come by ever so often to look for updates. Thanks for dropping by again!

My First Blog Award
Got tagged or rather given an award *wink* during the holiday period by Rizal of RestnRileks… Appreciate it for the heads up, bro. His blog goes by this tagline : Rattan and My World, My Arts, My Crafts, My Design and My Thoughts. So if you are interested in any of the above, just poke around his blog. He happens to be a lecturer at National Crafts Institute on the art of rattan.
Thought that I have some fun with the award. Just some result of an itchy left hand.

The participation rules are simple:
1. If you get tagged (and want to play along), write a post with links to blogs that you love,
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.
The award was originally done by Emila Yusof who does really nice artworks and products. I really like her illustrations and her style. This talented lady dabbles in sewing too. And her mum is into wedding crafts. Being on her site just inspires me.
Figured that I keep this post short and sweet so that you could save some time and spend it on both of their sites.

Get Stoned
Fancy getting an oversized pebble or make it several stones in your living quarters? It’s a bit of Zen-ish look but with a huge twist of fun.

Sure it brings calmness, serenity and peacefulness but when you have a few kids in there… it turns into a war zone.

Roses and Chocolates
It’s mid afternoon now and I can feel the heat of it on my back amidst the clinging and clanging of the lion dance troupe on lower ground. Yeah… it’s gonna be a hot Valentine’s day today and I would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day. No point telling you how this day came about for most of you probably read about it before. If not, just Google it.
So any plans tonight? I for one certainly have none made up. Yes yes… it’s my first Valentine’s with my dearest but the thought of getting shoved to a table with a narrow walkway where I am only inches away from other love birds whispering sweet nothings or sharing knowledge on knots and candles is definitely a no no. Nor would I be happy with lousy service and set courses prepared before hand. Many a times situation like these tend to douse out the flame for romance. Enough said.
Anyway here is something that I would like to share with you all. Yes, Kee Yit, I drew these. Something that I do to entertain myself on and off.
I shall name it “My Bunny Valentine” a dumb word play off a song title.

His second line would be : Let me be your bunny tonite.
And remember people, bunnies need a lot of loving. Yeah you know what I meant. *wink*

Back to Work
Finally am back in my cubicle. Been a long holiday for me… a very long one indeed since the 1st of Feb till the 12th. My days off involves a lot of sleep. So much so that my backbone seems to crumble away.
The Lunar New Year celebration is getting milder as years go by. I no longer anticipates it with glee as I used to as a kid. I remembers that it was during this times that I could eat a lot of prawn crackers, dried floss meat, yummy grilled meat, cakes… damn… I can’t really know what you call them in English. Am having blanks here when I am trying to translate them. Here’s some visual.
Ate a few slice of the bak kua and some prawn crackers. 1 karipap donut thing – “kok zai”. Did not take a sip of any packet drinks. And the other goodies were missing. You might have noticed that I did not include mandarin oranges in it… it’s because I don’t eat them. Period. Don’t ask why. I just don’t.
My angpow collection has reached an all time low… dipping at 5 I think. Including the one I got from my boss this morning might make it 6 or 7. Anyway I have not opened and have a peek at any of it yet.
Psst… come closer… my angpow collection from last two years are still stashed inside a box till today. Still in their red packet. No special meaning or whatsoever, I just felt like leaving it untouched for the moment.
Did not meet up with any of my friends this year, as usual actually. Most of it was spent shuttling here and there so would rather spend it at home. Another rerun of reality is that I keep losing in gambling. This year my youngest girl cousin introduced Texas Hold ‘Em Up at the table. It bore my pocket wide open but fun nonetheless.
And 2008 shall be the year which I had the most mushroom. No… I don’t mean in quantity. Normally the dishes will be filled to the brim with shiitake mushrooms but this year I had so many kind of spore-bearing fruiting body of fungus, that made a lasting impression on me. My uncle got them from his recent trip to Hong Kong where it’s unattainable here. The shiitake and abalone mushroom made their entrance as usual but the others just made me go smurfy. Their texture and taste was just great. Loved them. No tedious cooking method just simple into-the-wok-and-out stuff. There was also a soup made from mushrooms. Loosely translated into Monkey Brain Mushroom soup. From top, it looks like mini monkey brains but it also resembled a coral to me. The soup was superb and I had seconds. Supposedly good for the lungs. Wished I had more chances to taste them though.
Aaa… brings me back to this morning when I reversed my car only to find that I had a flat tyre. How appropriate for that to happen to me on my first day back to work. Did not realize it when I got back the other day. Bummer. Am waiting to get back and get down and dirty later tonight with it. Coincidentally today is the 2nd anniversary of me being attached to this company. Cheers to me!
Oh yeah tomorrow’s Valentine’s Day. Would not be celebrating as I hate crowds, lousy food and services.
Happy Valentine’s to you!
