KFC Mini Bucket USB Speaker

KFC is having a new promotion on their Half-Half Meltz but QiqiChan knows what I am really going for. It’s the Mini Bucket USB Speaker freebie. Cheapo me. Am having it for dinner later when I go climbing at the gym. I don’t like the word gym associated to the climbing center. Personal preference.

Somehow the colonel looks a bit Asian to me. Is it the eyes? And the lines on his jaw makes him looks like one of those dolls from the movie Dead Silence.

Dental Plans means better teeth

I remembered when I was young, visits to the dentist was nerve wrecking. I had to extract a few tooth to make way for my braces. On the other hand, it would have been a nerve wrecking experience for my dad when he was waiting to get the bill. Those days it never occurred to my parents to get a proper dental plan for the family. Unlike today, there are discount dental plans and traditional dental insurance readily available.

At DentalPlans.com, one can easily get information on the discounted dental plans available ranging from individuals to groups. Personally I would go for the discount dental plan rather than traditional dental insurance as I only have to pay a low membership annually to gain access to a large network of dental providers offering their professional service at a discounted rate. Honestly, I hate going through the hassle of paper work every time I get an insurance policy. The insurance claim part is a big headache too.

Why should I put myself through it if I can get my things done with just a few clicks and start getting discounted dental services? Many Malaysians are still ignorant about their dental health. It would be great if DentalPlans.com’s services reaches our shores. Then we would all be saying goodbye to annual limits, health restrictions and troublesome paperwork. That would definitely be something to smile about.

WordPress – How to Embed FLV files

Just found a helpful plugin to display .flv on my blog. It’s another cool addition to having videos on blog without using YouTube. It’s called FLV Embed by Yaosan Yeo. I used it on my Kung Fu Panda post. Easy to use and configure.

The features available are :

• uses simple, intuitive tags to generate FLV movies for your posts
• standards compliant: valid XHTML
• many options are configurable, such as autostart, show/hide control bar, player colour, poster image, full screen button etc.
• supports text only output for RSS that prompt readers to visit the original post for Flash content
• supports outputting poster image for RSS if desired
• accessibility: requires Javascript to display FLV player, but will prompt user to enable Javascript when disabled
• accessibility: prompt user to download latest Flash player if it is not installed or too old
• accessibility: no annoying “click to activate” for IE users
• does not touch your WordPress database at all

How to add it into your blog?
- Download the plugin at FLV Embed site.
- Unzip it and upload to your “wp-content/plugins”
- Activate it in WordPress Plugins admin panel. Done.

How to include it in your post?

That’s all. If you want to do more configuration then go check out the Options available on the site.

FLV files as explained on DownloadAtoZ.com. SWF is not the only Flash format. FLV files (Flash Video Files) are a binary file format that delivers “bitmapped” video, limited to one video and one audio stream per file, over the Internet to the Macromedia Flash Player version 7. FLV content may also be associated with SWF files by ActionScript external references. FLV format can also imported into Macromedia Flash Authoring tool. Unlike SWF format, FLV do not have maximum of 16000 frames limitation and ideally for large video file size.

Taiji – Dolphins Massacre Zone

Puff… there goes my mood for this coming Festival of Lights. This time the Japs had me utterly speechless. It’s neither their technology nor lifestyle that fascinates me this time. But rather the inhumanity. I was at Erin de Blog and saw the video. It was the brutal slaughter of dolphins. Most of it are for human consumption while those who escape death have to spend a lifetime in captivity in either shows or scientific programs.

How they do it:
After driving pods of dolphins into shallow coves, the fishermen kill the dolphins, slashing their throats with knives or stabbing them with spears. Thrashing about, the dolphins take as long as six minutes to die. The water turns red with their blood and the air fills with their screams.

It was a no holds barred thing and the perpetrators of this heinous crime are actually backed by authorities. I should not elaborate much on this for the information are readily available for you at Save Japan Dolphins Campaign.

Save Japan Dolphins! Support the coalition. The least you could do is send an email by filling up the blanks.

And yes, the surfer girl that you see in the video is Hayden Panetteire of Heroes fame. Though the group failed in freeing the poor dolphins, God knows they tried. The blood red seawater is sickening. *silence*

DiGi Bootcamp Ad

I love the ads DiGi are churning out nowadays. The concept, idea and execution is smooth. I saw this bootcamp ad on tv lately. Is it new? Because when I searched on YouTube it’s stated that it’s been up for three (3) months. Guess I am a little behind. But what the heck, if the work is good, it just lives on.

Who is The Superest?

Check out the game being played by Kevin Cornell and Matthew Sutter called The Superest.
Game rules :
Player 1 draws a character with a power. Player 2 then draws a character whose power cancels the power of that previous character. Repeat.

It’s quite enjoyable to watch a fight using only drawings and great copy.
Had always been a Kevin’s BearSkinRug fan. And now Matt’s InkFinger blog is equally fun too.

Kung Fu Panda Teaser Trailer and Wall-E Poster

Just got the teaser trailer from FirstShowing.net. Seems like it would be a big hit with all the action that Jack Black or shall I say Po is packing in the movie. Looks promising.

Oh and while browsing I saw that Pixar will be having a animated movie out in 2008 too. It’s called Wall-E. It’s set to hit our screens on June 27th 2008. Something of a robot-in-love kinda story. The robot looks like a mechanical version of ET to me. But cool nonetheless. Nothing to do but wait. A summer of Dreamworks ancient martial arts versus Pixar’s futuristic robots season.
