I want a – Get Out of Jail Free – mug!

Dang… why don’t we have such simple and nice looking mugs in the market? The ones we have around are just damn ugly. I don’t want orchids or creepy crawlers adorning my cuppa tea.
Having a cool mug like this might be the only chance to get to mingle around at the pantry. It might even save you a seat on those rare Monopoly get-together nights. Unfiltered tap water never tasted this good when you have a Monopoly mug to drink from.

Will it ever reach our shores? I’ll take a Chance, please.

New Blog New Playground… with occasional sand in shoes.

If any of you all noticed that my blog layout went haywire or was in default mode… it was because the Theme section was somehow corrupted. I could not choose any other theme except for the Default. No matter how many time I upload the files to overwrite it, changing the folder names, changing the folder permissions to 777 it was still the same. It was frustrating. It might be the cache memory or something, I will never know. I decided to delete the whole blog system from my Control Panel and manually reinstall the new Wordpress 2.3. It was easy and because I had been setting up 4 different new blogs for the past week.

There was bunnyfairy.com, sponkers.com, gazeandstare.com and this, abnerd.com.
In the beginning, the setting up intimidated me. All the .php stuff and database creation. Alas, all that was for nothing because the Wordpress installation guide was clear and concise. Took me around ten minutes to get everything up and running.

Oh and you guys (gals), might have noticed, I have started to put up some banners on the right side. Honestly, why let it go to waste and everyone’s gotta eat right. And hell, I eat 3 bowls of rice for that matter. That makes me a big eater in someway. Food4Thot, Sponkers and the little Puffin at BunnyFairy would attest to that. Lastly, I like playing with words. Not an expert wordsmith but just enough. Hence the two word games below. It’s an old skool Hangman game from The Free Dictionary and a seven (7) letter Scrabble game. I kinda stole it from The Free Dictionaryand hosted on my own server. Your mission if you wish to accept is to unscramble the words and drag and drop it in the boxes. All seven (7) words. If you are stuck, do what I do, refresh (F5). The words are randoms and repeats but try clearing all of them. If you want it to be on your blog let me know. I would gladly give you the script.

Little Red Dancing Shoes

It looks a little like Crocs to me, some of you might beg to differ. Who cares right?
In actual fact their called Dancing Shoes or Tanssitossut if you speak Finnish. Yup, it hails all the way from Finland. This super adorable felt+rubber shoe(s) is made solely for a mum/dad who love to have “shake your bon bons” session with their little angels/devils. How sweet it would look on those home videos. Bummer, would be parents/well wishers … it’s still in prototype stage.

Paper Craft – Toys From Pulp Part 1

I noticed there has been a surge in paper toys lately. No it’s not the Japanese origami. The ones I am going to rave about is on a whole new different level. Some are quite simple while others are really complicated which has mechanical parts. I bought a few paper toys on my previous trip to Bangkok. Some cute cartoony ones. I am after all a noob. But I am shining the spotlight on some old school Paper Crafts. And in abnerd’s old school term it means robots and space crafts. You are in luck if you dig Transformers, Star Wars and Star Trek. Tagging along you will find a stray Valkyrie (Macross), Delorean (Back to the Future) and some action figures. The Star Wars and Star Trek paper art goes back from 2002. You can download their “blueprints” and print, cut and glue away!

Star Wars Action Figure Collection

Gendang Rendang

I am awaiting for my free lunch. My colleague, hushed me to the side and told me that Mazlan will be bringing in nasi himpit and rendang ayam around lunch time. His wife is still cooking. Personal delivery to the office. Without having any second thoughts, I already decided that I will not go out for lunch. I will wait for the much awaited rendang. Ever since I tasted it last year, it had been on my list. Yeah, this could be one of the few reasons that makes my Hari Raya… a Hari Raya. I don’t think there will be much competition for it now, as a lot of them have resigned and some are still on leave. *evil laugh echoes through my rib cage*

My new place is cold. My stomach has started their drum beat festival. Save me, Mazlan!
Sadly, I do not have my camera with me to entice you with vivid images of tender, spicy and bloody fragrant ayam rendang. Food4Thot… what do you call rendang in english?

Feels like Monday

Groan… sigh… roll eyes…
That’s me getting back into reality. Without breakfast too.
But so far so good. The traffic was smooth and lrt crowd was ok just for one grumpy old man giving out orders in the train. He could still be clearing off his “hutang puasa” and the fact that it’s another day at the office pisses him off. Perhaps.

Oh and kudos to all of you who voted for me on the Chipster thing. The contest has ended on the 15th and I trail the board leader by… 34172 votes.Geez…

Anyway, happy working people!

Sayonara long Raya weekend

Hmm… at this hour tomorrow I will be in the office trying to catch up with some work. Am wondering whether will I have trouble waking up on time for I have been sleeping in quite late over the weekends. Woke up nearly around 11am daily. And caught some afternoon nap in the late afternoon. Can’t blame me because it keeps raining of late. I won’t be having such luxury soon, so why not… it’s usually hot and stuffy on the weekends and whenever rain comes, it’s a damn good reason to drift into slumber land. I am missing it already. Sigh…

I am still trying to familiarize myself with the self-hosted Wordpress thing. Anyone of you have any prior experience? Could I bug you with questions on and off? I have even tried to get my blog to display some sponsors banners. But my new abnerd.com blog is lacking exposure… so I guess it will take some time. Appreciate it if some pointers are given.

How is the Raya holidays treating you so far? Great I hope and safe journey for those on the road. Might be having my second Sushi King meal in 2 days… it’s because of the MyStyle delay in their sms coupon thing. Was in the restaurant yesterday and waited like hell for it but never came. Ironically, the coupon was delivered after we paid and left the place. That sucks. And RM3.50 has been charged to my bro’s and his gf’s phone. This sucks. Hope they could work out this screw up.
